Christmas = Antichrist(mas) - by Dr Scott Johnson

Interesting discussion regarding this topic, and eye opening.

The History, Origin, and Truth about Christmas- Think About It.

Nate Pfeil - The Fire (Romanian Subtitle)

We say we honor God during this time of year, we fight to have "Christ" put back into Christmas... I look around and am convicted on so many levels within my own life, and the world around me, and it brings me to my knees, crying out to God in repentance, true repentance.... Let us do, what it is we speak of... what better way to honor God than to die for Him, as He did for us, through Christ...to die daily to self, to be set apart, not just saved, but to live a life in pursuit of Him, of righteousness and holiness.... no matter what the world says and does. Some will be offended by this video, I don't care. Lord, I pray, that I am not one of those who you say "depart from me I never knew you"... We can do whatever we desire in "His name" but without Him, without truly knowing and honoring Him, without loving Him with our whole heart, without putting Him first in ALL things, we are committing an abomination.

Christmas

Almost every year since my mother passed away in 1998, the tradition of "Christmas" as we call it, has become more bitter over time.  Even as a child there were only a couple of Christmas' I remember distinctly - one being the year both my brother and I, received pet hamsters.  A live animal, a pet, something to love, and take care of...another living being.  And the other, was the year I received an electric organ, something I learned to play on my own and enjoyed immensely.  I way of expression, that as a young kid I found difficult to do, at least in the ways accepted by my peers, family members, even myself at times.  But all those other Christmas' ??  I can't remember, nor any gifts that are long since gone, old, broken, clothes that are to small, toys that lost their appeal.  I remember nothing.

When my mother died, the reality of "tradition" became clear - it was in fact "tradition".  Somehow something was intertwined with "tradition" that made repeating it bitter, useless, meaningless... but yet so many still hold onto it... I can't comprehend why.

God has had much to say about tradition:

Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

1 Corinthians 11:1-2 Be imitators of me as I am of Christ, now I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you.

(The manmade tradition of Christmas is not biblical).

Matthew 15:6 He need not honor his father; so for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God.

Matthew 15:3 He answered them: "And what do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?"

1 Timothy 4:7 Have nothing to do with irreverent silly myths.  Rather train yourself for godliness.

Matthew 23: 1-3  Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples; "The scribes and Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, so practice and observe whatever they tell you, but not what they do.  For they preach but do not practice.

(wow isn't that the "church" today? which says the majority aren't the true Church, the True Bride of Christ).

Do I care if others celebrate this holiday with its roots in paganism?  No, and while I don't want to offend anyone with this post, the truth of it is, it has absolutely no biblical support, is not ordained by God, and I can't hardly believe God in any way blesses it, in the least.  While many believe that an increase in suicides take place during this time, that is a myth.  Typically suicide rates increase during spring and early summer (perhaps this is when the reality of the debt incurred during December, hits everyone?).

Romans 14: 1-23 As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

This scripture says that I should not condemn or judge others for what it is they do - and likewise, nor should I for choosing to take this stance on a manmade tradition, that no longer has meaning to me. You see it was always said we were honoring God, remembering Christ' birthday (although much research and evidence suggests HE WAS NOT born on this day, which we call His birthday)... but the reality is, we never did honor God, or Christ or anything He did or didn't do.  You don't honor God by giving gifts to others, especially if doing so causes you to go in debt, or even worse, if it takes food, shelter and clothing from others who so desperately need it.  We honor ourselves, our ability to buy this thing or that thing, we become gluttonous this time of year in so many ways.  When people say "Merry Christmas" - neither the person saying or having it said to them, most often has no thought of Christ..

I am guilty of it... I feel guilty of it, and part of me hates it.  What great service are we truly doing when we tell kids a lie regarding a white bearded man who wears a red suit, that gives gifts if we are good?  Its sounds good, is fun, feels good, is exciting and magical.... but the bottomline is, its still a lie.  What does that say about us?  But its Christmas Tim, you say....but that doesn't justify it, make it right, or line up with anything God has provided us in His written Word.

The tradition of Christmas (granted) is something quite a bit different than it probably was 100 years ago - just log onto Youtube and do a search for Black Friday Madness, or some popular limited quantity product that parents are literally fighting to secure for their kid who absolutely must have who absolutely doesn't need.

So in conclusion, every year, this topic weighs heavy on my mind - there is pressure from the world, from family, friends, from people I don't know... to celebrate this mass tradition we call Christmas.  Part of me hates it - most of me in fact.  The part I hate the most.. is that we call this, something related to God, honoring God, remembering God, celebrating God - when the Truth is thats a big fat lie.  We honor ourselves, we honor each other, but we hardly honor God.  I am so reminded of this scripture and I realize how very frightening the reality of it is...

Matthew 7:21-2321 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Liberation

Today I am thankful for the liberation that Truth brings.

Approximately 1 year ago today - for 5 consecutive days, there was a type of silence, a span...that let me know a storm was coming in my personal life.  It was God's way of saying "the time has come"... The silence spoke of a truth I didn't want to accept, to acknowledge.

For many years a battle waged within my mind and manifested itself in my life.  Most of my adult life. The maturity of many bad seeds had reached their height, the bad fruit was about to be harvested and destroyed by a God I had come to know, love and trust.

Seeds of influence and innuendo, lies.

I was a prisoner in my own flesh and I desired such liberation even if it killed me.  My mind was being renewed and I knew the difference, I knew the truth.

It was a painful process to observe and even more painful to experience.  But I am thankful, I am free.

The silence still speaks an eternal truth that continues long past the crashing, clanging sound of the chains being broken. Even that faded into silence.

Thank you God for setting me free, and silencing the voice of the accuser, the one who told me lies, the one who sought to destroy me and keep me bound.  Thank you for liberating my soul, my mind, my body, my spirit... You set me free! You set me free!

When there is silence, truth is being revealed...over and over again, the question is are we listening?
When we ourselves are silent, do we realize the depth of truth that is being spoken?

Reminds me of this song by Jason Upton...

Thank you God for everything!

Dr. Albert Lemmons - Hearing the Voice of God

I recently ordered 14 audio CD's from Calhoun Church in Calhoun, LA.  These consist of Dr. Albert Lemmons' teaching on "Hearing the Voice of God" and also a Prayer Enrichment Workshop.  Dr. Lemmons lives in Franklin, TN where he serves as Associate Minister for the 175 year old Fourth Ave. Church of Christ.  In 2002, Dr. Lemmons was appointed as a National Senior Advisor to the Presidential Prayer Committee.  You can learn more about Dr. Lemmons and access some of his work, publications at his website www.prayermatters.org

I wanted to post a few tidbits of info as I took notes listening to the first three of these discs, some are direct quotes from Dr. Lemmons.  I highly recommend this material for any serious student of the scriptures.  You can contact Calhoun Church at their website http://www.calhounchurch.org/

I will continue to post quotes and/or portions of my own notes as I continue this very in depth, exciting and enlightening study.

Prayer is the essence of our spiritual life.  When the human spirit is detached from what is greater than itself, the good becomes bad, order becomes chaotic.  What holds the inner life together, its not just to know about God, even to know Him, but to be known by Him.
There is no substitute for prayer.  It is more than a light before us, but a light within us.  It’s a dialogue, a conversation between friends.

The Voice goes into the heart… we are not changed by what we know… but what the holy spirit causes you to become!

What we read with our eyes goes into our mind… but what we hear by His spirit/His voice goes into our hearts and is what transforms us.

Loneliness cries out for God’s presence.  Our lack of hearing his voice, accounts for so much of our unhappiness

Noise –both sight and sound signifies a presence… having someone around.  People’s heart and emotions cry out for the presence of someone or something.  We are hardwired to desire the presence of another being.  Noise is one of satans greatest substitutions.  This is why worship is so important.  Worship is who God is and praise is what He has done.

Your mind is flesh, your heart is spirit… you can’t worship God with your mind, you can only worship Him with your spirit.  He says we must worship in Truth and Spirit.

Annunaki Nephilim Ancient Astronauts NEW INFORMATION MUST WATCH NOW!!!

In keeping with my study group's theme - this presentation is simply awesome! In my near death like experience - one of the most profound and overwhelming aspects was the sound I heard. This was coming from billions probably trillions of "beings of light".. i.e. angels - it was the most beautiful music I will likely ever hear. It was simply coming out, emanating out of their inner most part. Somehow I knew that I knew that it was this music/sound coming out of them that literally kept them lifted up, suspended. I also knew (if it were possible) if they became silent, they would fall. I came across this video today - 20 some years after I had the NDLE - and it reaffirms what I saw, confirms what I thought, and solidifies my faith even more!

Priming the Pump!

As I get older, memories of childhood become more valuable and often times I can look back on those experiences and learn something new, God uses it to teach us things. I was thinking back of time spent at my Aunt Alice Banks home some weekends with cousins. They had an old water pump in their back yard and I thought it was the coolest thing to be able to put a little water in it (to prime it) in order to get alot more out! (Of course the well or spring or wherever it was coming from couldn't have been dry). I think it even tasted better because I had to work for it. It makes me think of how our relationship with God often works. Do we have a relationship with His word ONLY and not His Spirit? Sometimes thats very obvious, other times not so much. We must house a well of living water, so that when we are primed, prodded, and even pushed, that well flows freely. Being filled with His word, bears witness to His Spirit living within us and as we are transformed/sanctified, becoming transparent... that living water is able to flow freely and outward to those around us. We are moved by its current and it carries us. And it gives life not only to us, but to those around us. I remember if the well was dry, or if it was not primed properly with the right amount of water going in, all you'd hear was noise.... a gurgling sound that didn't provide much promise. Lord, let my well always be full and let me always be yielded to the process of being primed!

Being filled with His word, bears witness to His Spirit within us as well as within those around us.  I see it as a connection of our mind (knowledge) to His Spirit within us.  The Word (knowledge) gives His Spirit His Voice...  He brings remembrance to the Truth of His word within us when we need it.  The priming is akin to situations and circumstances we come to in our lives... those challenges are the things that cause the Spirit within us to rise up, to respond, to react and the Word (knowledge) in our minds is used to conquer and overcome those situations and circumstances.  This process can be elaborated on much more (from my perspective) but when this process takes place, I see Him writing His Word upon my heart.  Its like a permanent marker on my heart - His Word is proven over and over and my faith grows.

So One can't exist without the other.  If I only have knowledge but not His spirit, we are spiritually discerned. (Letter of the Law vs the Spirt)  It takes both.  I often see an image of me in the middle.. meaning that His Word (the knowledge, the actual words of the Bible, the precepts, statutes, commands, stories, etc) are in my mind, and I am hidden in Him, surrounded within by His Spirit... the two must connect and this takes place as I become more transparent...  picture that...   We become the conduit, the place where it all connects and the current flows freely as we become yielded and transparent.  Its pretty cool when you think about it.

Righteousness - Every Christian's Gift from God

The Purpose and Role of the Holy Spirit Part 2

We have established in Part 1, the basic definition of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, the Spirit of God, who came when Jesus ascended into heaven after His resurrection.

The Holy Spirit is "God with us" now, today.  He is the Spirit of God living within us once we have have believed in God, Christ, understanding and accepting that Jesus came, lived, died, and was resurrected.  Jesus who was the ultimate sacrifice for the redemption of mankind.

I want to discuss a few things that are important to the believer and follower of Christ and how the Holy Spirit is critical to these topics and for our transformation into mature men and women of God.

The first is sanctification.  Sanctification is the process of becoming sanctified, to be made holy. Sanctification is the work of God's free grace (2 Thess. 2:13)  whereby we are renewed in the whole man after the image of God (Eph. 4:23-24) and are enabled more and more to die unto sin and live unto righteousness (Romans 6:4, 6, 8:1).

Anthony A. Hoekema (1913-1988), in Saved by Grace, defines it as follows: That gracious operation of the Holy Spirit, involving our responsible participation, by which he delivers us from the pollution of sin, renews our entire nature according to the image of God, and enables us to live lives that are pleasing to him.

The verb "sanctify" means to be set apart, to be made holy.  We are to be set apart to be used for God's Kingdom, for sharing the good news, spreading the Gospel.  We are to be set apart to be stewards of His mercy and grace, love and compassion for a lost and dying world.  How can we do this?  We cannot of our own strength, power and will.  This is just one of many reasons God has given us the gift of His Holy Spirit!

The Work of the Holy Spirit in Sanctification
The Bible teaches, that the Holy Spirit works through the Word in the conviction and conversion of the alien. We affirm that he continues his work of sanctifying the Christian through the same means. Jesus prayed, "Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth" (Jn. 17:17).

Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to guide the apostles into all truth. He said, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth" (Jn. 16:13). If Jesus did what he promised, the inspired New Testament writers received, by the Holy Spirit, everything that pertains to life and godliness (2 Pet. 1:3). All was revealed, including all that pertains to our sanctification. He has given complete instructions and guidance in the inspired written revelation. The Holy Spirit is God's agent in the work of sanctification but the means used by the Spirit is the word of truth.

Christians have a responsibility in their own sanctification. Peter said, "Be ye yourselves also holy in all manner of living" (1 Pet. 1:15). Sanctification is not something imposed by the Holy Spirit apart from the obedient will and action of the Christian. In speaking of unequal yokes with sinful people in sinful practices, Paul said, "Come ye out from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord" (2 Cor. 6:17). The individual must act in separating himself from sin and he must act in being holy. The Holy Spirit in the written Word has told us how it is to be done. Our part is to give diligence to present ourselves approved unto God (2 Tim. 2:15), and to be doers of the word, and not hearers only (Jas. 1:22). We are to put away filthiness and malice and with meekness receive the implanted word, which is able to save our souls (Jas. 1:21). Wherein we fall short and fail we receive forgiveness by God's grace and in Christ as we meet the conditions for forgiveness. In none of these passages are we told that the Holy Spirit does any of his work of sanctification through a direct intervention or indwelling. He sanctifies us by leading and directing us through the word.

This should confirm to every believer that we need BOTH the Word of God and His Spirit residing in us to live a victorious life. One without the other will render us useless in the Kingdom of God.  We often come upon others who are not true followers of Christ, who have a great deal of knowledge of His Word, but lack the Spirit within them to bring them into repentance and true sanctification and holiness, a true pursuit of righteousness, i.e. right living, actions, thoughts, deeds, etc.  As we study the Word of God, i.e. the Bible and have it stored in our memories, the Holy Spirit will bring it to remembrance when we need it, using it to help steer us in the right direction, down the straight and narrow - and will convict us of both righteousness and sin.  Which is our next topic.

Does the Holy Spirit Convict?
Absolutely!  The first work of the Holy Spirit as noted in John 16:8, is the conviction of the world of right and wrong.  Right being "righteousness" and wrong being "sin".  The purpose of this conviction is to bring people to repentance. Understanding what is right and wrong, by the Holy Spirit as noted above.  Having this understanding, the sinner would then come into repentance, which is the turning away from wrong/sin and turning toward God.  The goal being salvation, acceptance of this free gift which would also include, grace and righteousness.  To bring a person back into right relationship and standing with God, of whom they rightfully belong through the price paid and sacrifice made on Calvary by Jesus Christ, the One and Only Begotten Son of God.

John 16:13 (Phi) "Yet when that one I have spoken to you about comes--the Spirit of truth--he will guide you into everything that is true."  The Holy Spirit guides us into ALL truth (as some translations say) this means that He WILL convict us of sin, that is to say convince us of sin.  If we sin against God, the Holy Spirit must fulfill His purpose and convince us of that sin, at the same time convincing us of what is Right - literally teaching us what is right from wrong.  This process of sanctification, the convicting/convincing of sin, of right and wrong is to continually bring us into a state of repentance or turning away from wrong and turning toward what is right, which ultimately is God.

The Holy Spirit never encourages our carnal nature--the flesh. The truth is, our carnal desires and nature must die. We are wicked people. Since we long to fellowship with an utterly holy God, somebody has got to change, and it will not be God. God offers eternal encouragement by the way of the Gospel: death, burial, and resurrection. The starting point is the truth. The truth convicts: we are guilty of sin. Conviction is the first step in the cycle of sanctification, and we should expect it and welcome it as it does its deadly work on the old man.
Phil 4:8 (NIV) Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure...
John 8:32 (Phi) "...and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free."

Does this Conviction continue after we are saved?
Absolutely!  The conviction of sin and of righteousness doesn't stop when we are saved.  In fact, if anything it increases.  When we are saved we are literally like new born babies, having been "born again" as we covered in Part 1 - we still need to learn to walk, talk, think, become wise and live right before God..  If we stayed in this infant stage the rest of our spiritual lives, we wouldn't be much good to the Kingdom of God now would we?  The goal of this conviction by His Spirit is to sanctify us, to make us holy as we just covered. When we are being sanctified, we begin to live more holy lives, to live righteously.  The righteousness that God freely gave us, His own righteous cannot be seen or heard by others, it is our free gift given to us by His grace, that we might be and are saved.  In response to this, we must pursue righteous, right living, as an outward testimony of God, His truth, His ways, and His life for Him and for His Kingdom that others might also come into the knowledge of Him who has saved us!  If we are true children of God, then we will also seek to live and act, say and do accordingly.  This includes living a righteous life, one that has been sanctified and made holy by His Spirit and our yielding to the same.

In summary of both Parts 1 & 2, the Holy Spirit as I have discussed so far, is required for the convicting of sins to the world, that the world might be saved through Him (Jesus Christ).  This conviction teaches us the difference between right and wrong, righteousness and unrighteousness.  We can say He opens our eyes to the sin in our life, that we might know the difference and as a result turn away from sin, which keeps us separated from God.  Once we accept the free gift of salvation we are born again.  Being new born babies in Christ, we must mature and grow up. This accomplished by our study of the Word (written Word of God) and by the Living Word of His Spirit residing within us.  We can receive power by the baptism of His Spirit as we have also discussed, empowering us for ministry, to share the good news of Christ and His Kingdom.  The Holy Spirit is a vital requirement not only for salvation but for living sanctified, holy, victorious lives.

I will wrap up with Part 3, which will cover various biblical references to the nature, characteristics, personality and roles of the Holy Spirit and how He accomplishes that in our daily lives as we journey toward holiness in God!

The Purpose and Role of The Holy Spirit Part 1

This post will not cover everything, but I think its important for any believer and non-believer to understand the purpose, role and function of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God with us, the God who is with us and dwells within us today, now.  He is our connection to God the Father and the Son.  He guides, directs, empowers, comforts, leads, teaches and convicts.  He is the living Word within us, the actual Voice of God within us.

I will speak from my own personal experience as well as provide scriptural reference. But by no means should this short article/post replace your own study and pursuit of understanding.

Assuming most people know the story of Christ and the fact that He died on the cross and was resurrected from the dead and now sits at the right hand of the Father - the first mention of the Holy Spirit we see in scripture actually begins in Genesis:  1: 1-2  "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters."  From my own contemplation of this passage, it confirms for me that the Spirit of God always existed from the beginning.

Jumping way ahead, again with some assumptions that you the reader understand and have knowledge of the Son of God, we know that Jesus ascended back to heaven and as a result "the comforter" came or was sent.  John 14:26  "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."  NIV.  Other versions speak of the Advocate or Holy Spirit as:  helper, comforter, the friend.  So Jesus the Son, went away back to heaven to be with the Father, and as a parting gift to us, the Holy Spirit was sent.   So the Holy Spirit being the third person of the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), is God with us, today, now!

How do we meet or encounter God's Spirit, The Holy Spirit?
First we must acknowledge the One True Living God.  John 3:3 Jesus said:  "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"..  Being born again is what it requires.  Jesus goes on to say in verse 5, "Most assuredly I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." NKJV   Nicodemus was perplexed by this idea, because he didn't understand what Jesus' was saying.  But Jesus clarifies it for him:  John 3:10-17" Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things?  Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness.  If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?  No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.  And Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.  For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten, Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

So Jesus says we must be born of water and the Spirit.  What does this mean?
Jesus is having a conversation with Nicodemus, who was a Pharisee. Jesus spoke to Nicodemus in accordance to the Pharisee’s teaching- to be born of water meant to be born physically. This is proved by Nicodemus remark who thought to be born again meant a physical birth “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?In verse 5, Jesus proceeds to say, “Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, you cannot enter the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus, who was a Pharisee, believed like the other Jews that because he was born a Jew and kept God’s ordinances that he should automatically enter into the kingdom of God. However, Jesus explains this is not enough. In verse 6, Jesus Himself interprets the water as flesh (a physical birth) "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." Jesus says of being born of water is to be born of the flesh. Jesus explains the difference, telling Nicodemus you have already had a physical birth, you are in need of a another birth “Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' Literally from the Spirit above to enter the kingdom. You must be born again “that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." The new birth from above is a second birth which gives us eternal life
V.5 The new birth is invisible, he likens it to the wind. It is not from the water beneath (the flesh) but of the Spirit (literally, in the Greek, from above). He is contrasting the natural (flesh) to the spiritual (Spirit).

There is always a distinction between water and Spirit baptism. Scripture tells us that John came baptizing in water but that, “There is one who will come after me. . . He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit” (Mk. 1:7-8; Mt. 3:11; Jn. 1:33). The flesh and the spirit are two different properties, two different things. So there are two births- one of the flesh and the other of the spirit that comes from God. John 3:6-7 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. "Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'
The term born of water is used only once by John but the term born of  God (the Spirit) he uses numerous times.
I Jn 4:7: “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God” This is the love of God shed in a believers heart by believing the gospel.
I Jn 5:1: “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.” This of course has to do with the gospel.
I Jn 5:4: “ For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-- our faith” The new nature of the spirit of God has our affections change toward God and not toward the fallen world.
I Jn 3:9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. ”
I Jn 5:18: “We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.” There is life change where one lives more in righteousness than they do in the old way of life in sin. John explains this in I Jn 2:29: “If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him” And Paul teaches this through the book of Romans especially chapter 6-7
Romans 7:6 “But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.”
The Bible teaches that a man is “born of God” (Greek- EK - out of). This description occurs four times in John’s epistle alone, 1 Jn. 3:9, 4:7, 5:1,4. In all the instances where the source of the new birth is mentioned, the language is EK Him, EK God, or EK Spirit. John 1:12-13, we receive Christ by believing in His name, “not born by the will of man . . . but of God.” Nowhere in the Bible does it say that God uses creation (born of water) as part of conveying the new birth. The Greek preposition (“out of”) is never used elsewhere in connection anything else but its source which is God Himself.
In John 3:3, the term “born-again” literally means “to be born from above,” is what happens by Jesus sending His Spirit to those who respond to the gospel. The very essence of regeneration is by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It is an unseen work that one receives when they believe, they are then sealed with the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13).
Born of God” To be begotten of God- to have his life, that is eternal along with the characteristics born anew is to love God and will certainly translate in loving the brethren. 1 Pt.1:22; 2 Pt.1:3 tells us we have been given His divine nature v.:5-8 “But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The context of Jn. 3:5 must be related to Jesus’ previous statement in Jn. 3:3 :“Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” There is only one new birth mentioned in this verse and it is from the Spirit as other Scriptures uphold. John 3:6-7: "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. "Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again. .”’

1 Peter 1:22 "Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, because:  All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.  The grass withers, and its flower falls away, But the word of the Lord endures forever.  Now this is the word by which the gospel was preached to you.

We can see clearly from these passages that the Holy Spirit is required, is necessary for us to be saved, to enter into the Kingdom of God.  We know that the Spirit of God is the vehicle, doorway, means by which we are "born again".  We obtain the Holy Spirit when we believe in God and acknowledge the risen Christ, as our Lord and Savior.

What about the baptism of the Holy Spirit?
The reference of being baptized with or by the Holy Spirit occurs several times in scripture:

Matt. 3:11, "As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."

Mark 1:8, "I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

Luke 3:16, "John answered and said to them all, 'As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."

John 1:33, "And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, "He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the one who baptizes in the Holy Spirit."

Acts 1:5, "for John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."

Acts 11:16, "And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, 'John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit." We can clearly see that the phrase is used in the Bible. But, we do not find a clear teaching in the Bible of what the phrase means. Nevertheless, we can conclude that when a person is baptized in the Holy Spirit he has power bestowed upon him. This power is for the purpose of the preaching of the gospel (Acts 4:31), living a purer life, and having a deeper devotion to God. Also, it is frequently accompanied by speaking in tongues.

Acts 2:4, "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance." At this point, I would recommend the reader to examine Acts 1-2 to see the movement of the Holy Spirit upon the early church at Pentecost. The issue now seems to be whether or not Baptism of/in/with the Holy Spirit is a subsequent event occurring after salvation. It would seem that this is the case.

In John 20:22, Jesus commanded that the disciples receive the Holy Spirit, "And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit." This means that they were saved since the Holy Spirit is not received by the unregenerate.

Then, later in Acts 1:4-5 we read, "And gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, "Which," He said, "you heard of from Me; 5 for John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."

It seems to be that while we receive the Holy Spirit at salvation, we can additionally receive empowerment, through baptism of the Holy Spirit.

One definition of baptize is:  to purify or cleanse spiritually especially by a purging experience or ordeal.

A deeper understanding and reference to this practice of baptism and the work of the Holy Spirit in baptism can be found at this link   This reference covers the origins of the word baptism and its Hebrew roots. I highly recommend this additional study, as it lays the foundation of why Jesus Himself was baptized by John in water and also the Holy Spirit - John 3:13-17.  Jesus' baptism is clearly for the preparation and fulfillment of righteousness for ministry.

I will conclude this part of the study and begin work on the second part, which goes into more detail of the various roles and functions of the Spirit as we journey on our walk as followers of Christ.

If we do not understand the purpose and role of the Holy Spirit, recognizing this Spirit dwells within us when we receive salvation, then we may never mature as men and women of God.  This is so critical to understand and accept as we move toward the high call God has placed on our lives, in pursuit of Him, pursuit of righteousness and holiness, true sanctification by His Spirit!

Proverbs 28:9 - Detestable Prayers

I shared this earlier on my facebook page and it really is settling in my heart, its like an "ah ha" but "Oh My God!!!" moment of revelation.

I am really just struck by this passage/verse these past two days: Proverbs 28:9 If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable. In some translations, detestable is "abomination"...

That is extremely powerful to me in my mind, and I hope (and yes pray) that it becomes more powerful in my heart. The commentary on this scripture is equally revealing - a bit of a "shake up" for me. (written in an old form of english) I especially see this part speaking to me "when there is a 'turning away' from the control of the Law; in that wrily it is meet that a man should be a stranger to the favours of him to whose bidding he will not be subject." Understanding I don't believe the Law was abolished (as I know many agree with) but it was fulfilled - but being fulfilled doesn't make it null and void. Just like if someone steals and they are charged with theft, doesn't do away with the law. They broke the law, justice was served and therefore it was fulfilled.

Verse 9. - He that turneth away his ear from hearing the Law. He who refuses to hearken to and to practise the dictates of the Divine law (comp Proverbs 1:20. Even his prayer shall be abomination (comp. Proverbs 15:8, and note there). "God heareth not sinners" (John 9:31). Such a man's prayer, if he does pray, is not hearty and sincere, and therefore, lacks the element which alone can make it acceptable. He will not resolve to forsake his favourite sin, even while paying outward worship to the God whoso Law he breaks: what wonder that the prophet so sternly denounces such offenders (Isaiah 1:11. etc.), and the psalmist cries with terrible rigour, "When he shall be judged, let him be condemned; and let his prayer become sin" (Psalm 109:7)? St. Gregory ('Moral.,' 10:27), "Our heart blames us in offering up our prayers, when it calls to mind that it is set in opposition to the precepts of him whom it implores, and the prayer becomes abomination, when there is a 'turning away' from the control of the Law; in that wrily it is meet that a man should be a stranger to the favours of him to whose bidding he will not be subject." And again (ibid., 18:9, 10), "If that which he bids we do, that which we ask we shall obtain. For with God both these two do of necessity match with one another exactly, that practice should be sustained by prayer, and prayer by practice" (Oxford transl.).

I know there are many other verses that may seem to contradict this - but I am thinking this applies to those who continually stay in sin who want the benefits and blessings but reject the One behind them.. the commentary mentions a person's favorite "sin" - I can relate to this so much. So many times I have asked God for this or that but by default refused to be transformed by His word, instead actually becoming a harbor for a particular or specific sin, that my carnal mind or flesh didn't want to relinquish. How awful is that? Oh God, help me to be continually transformed by the renewing of my mind, by studying your word, and spending alone time with you, seeking your Voice and wise counsel, discipline and instruction! Sure there is grace and where there is sin, grace abounds more.... but Paul plainly stated, should we go on sinning, No! That is my hope, my desire, to surely be made Holy through this continual process of sanctification.

Heaven!!

Someone I use to know left this for me while I was away on a business trip.  I came across it as I was cleaning out my files many weeks ago and decided I wanted to keep it.

Thinking over the statement, I am so grateful that God in His undeserving grace to me, allowed me to visit what I know to be heaven and has many many times reassured me of my salvation.  An assurance that goes beyond anything I can truly comprehend, because of His grace.

I am so thankful today, that I DO know where I will go when I leave this world, and I absolutely hope and pray that every human I have ever loved and continue to love will come to know this same truth and be there as well.  I know I have been to Heaven, at least in part and if you haven't read that story on this blog, you can by visiting this "Near Death Experience" link.

One Day in Your Courts

"One Day in YOUR Courts"...is better than packing for my flight tomorrow, doing expense reports, taking a shower, and anything else that I think needs to be done. YOU always make a way and I am learning to always make YOU first....thank you God for putting people in my life to help me along this journey. You answer every single prayer right down to the finest of details.

Salvation is indeed a free gift, but if you want to live a transformed life, it will cost you everything. If you want to live a life of peace, of joy and rest, you must exchange yours for His. Its the difference of laying it all down at the cross (as we say in the south) and being nailed up there with Him. When you realize you are the burden, you'll gladly lay yourself down with Him to be made new!

When you fall in love with God, you'll never be completely satisfied until you see Him face to face. It is the sweetest frustration I have ever known. Even when that day comes, He is so big, so great, so majestic, so brilliant, so indescribable... someone once said, who says they visited heaven...that the angels never tire of circling round about Him, because each time they pass by they experience a new dimension of His glory.

Kim Walker - Talks about the Condition of Our Hearts -

Excellent message from Kim Walker live in Los Angeles 2013 with Jesus Culture. I think this was for me today, God is "firming" up His Word to me, regarding my need to always ask the question after each prayer "For What Purpose"... if I answer that question honestly, it surely will reveal the condition of my own heart.

It's Your Breath In Our Lungs...!!!

Lord let every breath I take be a reminder of your sacrifice. Giving it all back to you, giving you the glory in all that I do, whether I eat or drink, whatever it is I do let it always be unto you!

Tremendously blessed to share in the worship that takes place at Journey Church in Franklin, TN when I am there, with great friends new and old.  All Sons & Daughters (when their schedule permits) lead worship on Sundays!

All Sons & Daughters - "Great Are You Lord"

Unto the Lord

I was thinking and meditating on a passage in scripture these last two days...

Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."

I looked for additional scripture relating to this...

I Corinthians 10:31 "So whatever you do, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." Colossians 3:23 "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men."

He specifically made me think of the many, many times I sit down to eat, have a meal, whether with family, friends, alone - relaxing, on the go.. I am quick (sometimes) to thank Him for the meal and ask that He bless it that it would nourish my body - and then He asks "For What Purpose"...

Its obvious to me from a selfish perspective that the purpose is to do just as I had asked for nourishment, to sustain me - but He says again: 'For What Purpose, Tim?" So often we stop where we end. But He has no end. I place limitations on Him when I am selfish in my thinking - self righteous in a sense that I do not think past my own needs, desires. The only one getting the glory or benefit when I'm only asking for things that benefit me and do not further define "Why?"... "For What Purpose?"... "To What End?"

When I sit down to eat and ask for His blessings, I should be doing it with Him in mind, His kingdom and for His good pleasure, which would also be mine. For What Purpose? To carry the good news to the broken hearted, to give life to those who are dead and dying. To give hope, to impart peace, to encourage, to lift up, to be renewed, refreshed, restored!!!

Oh Lord, sustain me, for this purpose! And remind me always to think of You, and do just as the Word says... Whatever I do wether I eat or drink, whatever it is I do, I want to glorify you!!

To what end do we seek God's blessings? Is it for ourselves, our loved ones, or is it for Him? He has already told me, more than once, if we seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all, thats ALL these things will be added unto us. What are "these things"?

Matthew 6 tells us all about it - Our daily bread (both literal and spiritual), deliverance from evil, forgiveness, when fasting and praying in secret, He will reward us openly, and verse 25 says "Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what you shall put on; Is not the life more than meat? and the body than raiment?

What is really being said here, is that we don't have to worry about those things - He has it covered, when we seek Him first and His righteousness. Of course He wants us to be happy, healthy, clothed, and well fed. But He wants those things for a greater purpose which is the expansion of His Kingdom, that all might be saved and enjoy the rich inheritance He has for us, to be with Him for eternity!

Lord, thank you for asking me and for reminding to ask myself, "For What Purpose"...

Just a Thought

I was discussing with close friends this past week the response so many Christians have at times when dealing with people outside of the "body" who don't know God, regarding their sin. So often we are quick to tell people about the laws and commandments of God, but most often these same people don't know God and therefore are spiritually discerned when it comes to understanding His commandments, his precepts, statutes and laws. So I have to repeat what I have learned to be True... Its the love of God that transforms a life, not His law, but as we get into right relationship with God and literally fall in love with Him, we learn to love His law... we begin to see the reason for His commands, we understand they are rooted in His deep and eternal love for us and we begin to take delight in them! And in our Loving Him, we want to please Him..to add to all the reasons He delights and sings over us! Loving Him, is to love His law even if it means sacrificing ourselves, our desires for His! In fact, as you grow in relationship with Him, the things of this world, pale in comparison to what He provides. You realize these worldly and carnal desires are like filthy rags compared to Him and His riches, His glory. But don't take my word for it, take His! See for yourself.

So with the topic of homosexuality - which I feel has been my cardinal sin if there were just one.. I have often said God has not called me to minister to this particular demographic of sinners, just as I don't feel He has called me to minister to people with addictions. But what He has called me to do is minister His great love to others, the Truth He has revealed to me through my own life, and through various trials and tribulations that include these various sins, but are not exclusive to them. So He caused me to ask myself this question: "Tim what would be your response to someone who might ask you if homosexuality was a sin?" I said to Him and to my friends, "I believe it is a sin"... then He caused me to think a little more... and I said: "A better response would be: I believe it is a sin, but lets not focus on that, lets talk about God and how a relationship with Him can liberate us from all sin, no matter what that might be".. Thats such a key to our own personal freedom in Christ, and for others. Without a true one on one relationship with Christ, we remain prisoners to our own carnal nature, our own intellect, our own understanding. It is through this relationship that He reveals Himself to us - He comes first...not our pastors, our friends, our family members, our husbands or wives, not even our children, and certainly not our sins, past or present.

He must be first above everything! He understands us individually so intimately... I mean gosh, He knows the number of hairs on our head... what human do you know that knows you that well?! No one! And because of that intimate knowledge He has of us, He and only Him, can teach us in the way we understand. Its like having a special unique, no one like Him in the universe, teacher especially for us, individually. He can teach us the way we understand because He knows our past, He knows our thoughts, He understands how we think. Through His spirit He teaches us from that perspective whatever it is...and every single human being is different because each of us have different experiences, we are each unique, none of us are the same!

I can't find anywhere in the bible where Jesus sat and talked for hours on end about someone's sin, I can't see where He analyzed it, and discussed and constantly went over and over how He would save us from sin. Because the salvation He offers us is not simply to be set free, but it is to live an abundant and holy, super enriched and rich life!!  He didn't come JUST to save us...thats the start, the very beginning of our relationship with Him!!!  He simply says "go and sin no more"... and if any man is to follow Him, then he must pick up his cross daily and deny himself.... noticing that the first step the first action in that is to 'follow Him'... and in doing so, we begin our relationship with Him, we have fellowship with Him, we grow to know and love Him... we begin to act and think the way He does... we are transformed by our association with Him, with His Spirit and His word.

He will reveal what needs to change in your life, He does so by His spirit within you and the conviction of sin you will ultimately feel, and you will go through a sanctification process... When we are in an intimate relationship with Christ - we are transformed! Thats what it takes! So I don't want to talk about your sin, I want to talk to you about this man named Jesus, the one who is the way the truth and the life. The One who was the Word made flesh, God's only Son, who came here to show us how to live, and die... to ourselves. The One who showed us what a True sacrifice is, an eternal and sufficient One! Who died for us that we might live, but not just live, but to live abundantly! Amen!

Galatians 5:16-26 "Walk By The Spirit"

16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy,[a] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Mother Dying of Cancer Gives a Godly, Life Changing Final Speech

For What Purpose?

This morning as I was laying in my hotel bed, some of my first thoughts were of the prayer I prayed yesterday; to be more than broken.  Because I know there is great revelation in our suffering as we seek God.

He was waiting and as my mind became more conscious He reminded me of another, simple prayer I often pray while traveling:  'Lord, protect us as we travel today."  And as I recounted that common prayer, He spoke softly to me and said:  "For what purpose, Tim?"

We often seek His blessing, His power, but to what end?  To serve ourselves with no thought nor desire of Him and what He wants?

He is answering the first prayer, to be more than broken, by revealing a truth that already exists within me that I might fully see my great need for Him. In doing so, I realize my brokeness, more than brokeness.  So really the answer comes in the prayer itself.  I am already more than broken, I simply need Him to reveal it to me again and again.

I am reminded of Chris Tomlin's words in 'Lay Me Down":

I lay me down I'm not my own
I belong to you alone
Lay me down, lay me down
Hand on my heart this much is true
There's no life apart from you!
Lay me down, lay me down
Lay me down, lay me down

Letting go of my pride
Giving up all my rights
Take this life and let it shine!
Take this life and let it shine!

What a challenge it is to end our prayers with the thought and question:  'For what purpose?"   'To what end?"  How does an answer to this prayer serve you God?

He really knows how to put the ball back into my court so I might fully enter into His!

To Be Broken

I have prayed many times to be broken.  Because I realize this heart is evil, I am wretched in all my ways, unclean in my thinking, confused and convicted.

Lord, I know, that I know not what it is that I pray - I know not what trial and tribulation you might bring to break me, to utterly crucify me - but I trust in you completely and the end result would reveal a new man, a new creature in You!

So I come before you again this day, realizing that being broken perhaps is not enough.  But I ask, plead, bowed down before you to break me again and again.  And when the pieces of my heart are laid before you, I ask that you stand upon them, reducing them to dust - that nothing could be pieced back together through my own actions or will.  And when the dust remains, I pray that you send down fire from heaven to consume it all!  That nothing of me would remain, that I would ultimately and completely be crucified by your all consuming fire!

Then and only then will I know the resurrection power of what took place on Calvary, then and only then will you be able to fully rule and reign in this vessel.  Then and only then will I be hidden in your heart!

Increase my faith, my desire, my pursuit of you and the righteousness that only you bring.  That I might walk upright in holiness before you, completely yielded to you and all your ways, taking delight in all your commands, joy in all your precepts and statutes.

Birthing an eternal song in my heart that the whole world sees and hears - for your glory!  For your Kingdom!  For You!  For You Lord!

Kat Kerr on Homosexuality - The True Image (Revelation Report)

Another good message from Kat Kerr regarding The True Image and homosexuality.  I can personally related to this message specifically that I know God has called many to specific powerful purpose in this life/world and the enemy seeks to entrap them in various ways but one in particular is the trap and deception of homosexuality.  Our forefather's, Adam, "image" was corrupted when he partook of the sin, forbidden fruit, with Eve.  So we were born "this way" in the sense, we were born in a fallen state, but God has the desire and ability to raise us up, in a born again, resurrected state!!!  The enemy desires that we remain in bondage, to keep us from the Truth of who we really are in Christ.  The truth that we were born this way, has been twisted to make us believe that the lives many of us have lived and are living is what God intended.  But that is the lie!  The act of homosexuality is a choice, perhaps the attraction toward the same sex is not so much, but acting out on that attraction through sexual relationships or encounters is a choice. Most often that attraction starts out as an innocent search on our part for acceptance or a right/nurturing relationship with a father figure, a mentor and the enemy uses that void to plant seeds of destruction and deception.    God says to "Deny yourself"... pick up your cross and follow Him and it is in that following, that pursuit of God, that will transform you and your sinful nature will be defeated.

Freedom from Homosexuality: My Story

Awesome testimony and story from a young man who so simply describes the origin of our fallen nature, our propensity to be disobedient toward God - whether you believe that you were born gay, or not, whether science supports it or not.  God has provided a way to free us from this bondage. And freely offers us the chance to be transformed by being BORN again!  Encountering God, will forever change you and facing Him, being in His presence will leave you with a Truth that you can only ignore for so long, your life will never ever be the same.

So many homosexuals argue that you shouldn't "repress" your natural tendency to be homosexual, but God says "Deny yourself"  Luke 9:23-24 "Then he said to them all:  Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.  For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it."    What this scripture is saying is that if you want to follow Jesus and be His disciple you must deny yourself, deny your fallen nature, turn away from your wicked ways, turn away from those things that set themselves against God, against His ways.  Take up your cross... what is the cross?  To me it is the burden, carry the burden, pick it up.. what is the burden?  The choice to deny yourself, to fulfill the destiny of being crucified with Him, that you might participate and be a recipient of the resurrection power that came through Christ.  For without this power the realization of its far reaching victory - you will continue to go to the cross, but never dying with Him.  But its through our death and subsequent resurrection with Him, rebirth, being born again that we are made new.  Its the only way!  We must lose our life for Him, to live through these earthly vessels.  We must be crucified with Him!  For without it we will never find our true eternal life and salvation in Him.

"Just Because He Breathes" - Rob & Linda Robertson

Such a touching story from two parents of a son who struggled with homosexuality and subsequently died of an accidental overdose.    A very good message for parents who are struggling to deal with this, with their own son or daughter.

The New Humans by Mary Rodwell

I present/post this material for those interested in these topics - but if you watch/listen be advised that while I fully believe most of what is being conveyed, is true, it is one of if not THE greatest deception taking place and for reasons that can be found throughout scripture.  We were NOT created by another race of beings/aliens, but certainly the people (as well as fallen angels/satan) would have you believe that.  Play very close attention to the position the presenter takes especially early on in the video.  There are tons of resources, videos, documentation related to these topics.  Make your own conclusions, but know that the ultimate Truth can be found in God's holy word, and discernment comes with earnest prayer, seeking God and knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

This Day - Summer Vacation Coming Up!

I woke up this morning to a special note from an old friend, from elementary school.  She told me that some time in fourth grade I stood up for her for being black.  It made me feel good, although I can't remember that far back.

It reminds me of how small things can be big things to others... God help me to make that kind of impression continuously, the rest of my life!  Thank you Bonita for sharing that with me.

I am looking so forward to a small but adventurous trip with Shannon this week.  To spend time in Western NC...  sharing our love of God, singing in the Jeep... hiking the Blue Ridge, taking tons of photographs and simply just getting away and relaxing.  I hope this is the first of many trips, special times!   We also have purchased tickets to see Chris Tomlin at a small concert in Cary, in October.  I am very much looking forward to that as well.  (Hopefully more in between).

It is so refreshing to be connected with another human being that shares the same desire/zeal for knowing God, loving God and who also has been brought out of and set free from so much.  Surely God has connected us for good things!

I think about other people as well, from my past.  And while I can never go back to that time and place, and although I can truly same I am a different person today.  I hope my life, will (if not already) be a living testimony to others who may not know Him yet...  a testimony to His grace, mercy and unending/abounding love.

I use to tell people sometimes - I wish I could just show you what I know, take you to those places I have been (Near Death Like Experience).. so you could see for yourself.  But I can't... so I pray that God will continue to transform my life, make me so transparent and so hidden in Him that others would see only You, God.  Because then they will know, then they will understand and seek You, earnestly seek You for themselves.  In the meantime, I pray that you send others to these people's lives, that would cause their hearts to turn toward you, understanding that its your love that transforms us, that opens our eyes and our hearts, not your laws.

But in getting to know You, we love You, and in loving You, we want to be like You.  And as our hearts are transformed, circumcised and made new - we find delight in your ways, your commands and statutes.  The old things pass away and all things are made new!  We desire to be tried by fire, we desire to deny ourselves, taking up our crosses and following You, all the days of our lives!

To all near and far, old friends and new - whether we see each other frequently or not, whether we speak now or not.  My prayers are with you this day, for you and your families, your friends - everyone in your circle of life, that God draw you near, protect you and fill your hearts with Joy and peace!

The Time is Short

I just woke up from a long nap.  The day was a little exhausting.

I had a disturbing dream.  Which is what woke me up.

In the dream I was with my mom (who passed away in 1998) and we appeared to be having dinner, or lunch at a local restaurant.  There were hardly any other customers in the restaurant.  I was an observer in the dream, watching both my mother and I, sitting at a table.

The dream was short.  There was general informal conversation taking place between my mother and some of the employees.  I was also telling her about things that were happening in the world - such as the earthquakes, the floods, terrible weather, destructive storms and tornadoes, some of the political news.  Then it was like I zoomed in on something someone said to her, one of the employees - who was also saying something to the effect that "we are living in the last days"... and that "prophecy was being fulfilled"... as they continued to clean.  I noticed the expression on my mom's face - she was smiling.  Then I turned to her and said "why don't they understand, why don't they get it and why aren't people listening"... and she (without turning away from her observation of the employee and what they were doing, said, "Its scary stuff, its frightening"... then I looked at her (I was actually observing myself, I was outside of my body, watching the conversation between my mother and myself)...  and I said "How much more frightening is it than being without God through this, how much more frightening is it to be utterly and completely separated from God for eternity?!!"

Then I turned my head away and started crying uncontrollably, I would call it sobbing...  and I couldn't handle that feeling in the dream, so I woke up.

Then God started to speak to me.  Telling me that people see these things happening all around them, and know that we are in these times, but they are disconnected from the events because it hasn't directly impacted them.  Even some who are directly impacted are rebellious in their own strength, saying they too, will rebuild and restore. It was as if it didn't concern them.  Then I thought about the great flood.  I wondered if at the first sight of rain falling anyone gave any thought to just how much rain it would be?  Surely not, because Noah and his family were the only ones in "Right" relationship with God to know to build the Ark in the first place.  Can you see this difference?  He spent years and years planning and preparing for the even God spoke to him about.  How many years have we spent preparing ourselves for this time in God's prophetic timeline?  How many years have we spent preparing for His return?

The expression on my mother's face - was a symbol of the seduction that is happening.  The events and terrible things that are taking place mesmerize people, its a type of seduction from the enemy.  God reminded me of the story of boiling a frog.  Its subtle in most cases, and the people don't even realize they are perishing.

Then I remembered a recent post by someone in the ministry who requires the students who want to come and be a part of the ministry - to share God's word with them, they must do this, because the times that are upon us require us to know His word.  Without it we perish, we have no idea what our authority is in Him, we have no clue the kind of power and position we have in Christ, unless we also have His word living within us, written upon our hearts!!!

This dream was as much for me as anyone.  But it was yet another wake up call to me, to not slumber to get into His word and His word into me.  We cannot operate in the authority, power and position that Christ has called us to operate and live in, without His word!  And it is through His word, and the process of sanctification by His spirit, that we are transformed and empowered!

We are helpless without His word!  Without Him!

Look around you and understand that YOU are not disconnected from it, even though it may not be in your own household or backyard, the day is coming when all will experience great trial and tribulation such as man has never seen or witnessed before.  I do not believe in the pre-trib rapture doctrine, I never have and while we can certainly hope to escape some things, judgement always starts with God's people/Church first

1 Peter 4:17 For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God's household. And if judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God's Good News?

Reason To Sing - All Sons and Daughters

I can't get enough of His presence today.  Humbled, so humbled by His great love for us.  I can't tell you how my heart literally aches for the whole world to see Him as HE IS!  Because I know when we do, all the things of this world will pass away, all the trials and tribulations, all the confusion, doubt and despair will pass completely away.  He surely, most assuredly, loves us beyond our ability to understand, to comprehend and conceive.
